Looks like it is my turn at the blog.\u00a0 I\u2019ll try to keep it interesting.\u00a0 We are continuing to understand the culture a little bit better and don\u2019t feel like we stick out as much.\u00a0 It has been awesome to see the group continue to bond together and hearing conversations like \u2018why did you come to Haiti?\u2019, \u2018what is God teaching you while you are here\u2018, \u2018how will your life be different when you return\u2018.\u00a0 Please continue to pray for the team that we can process the experience and be prepared to share our experience with others when we return.<\/p>\n

Today the team split into two groups with one going back to Jasmine\u2019s orphanage and the other going back to the church in Laogone.<\/p>\n

The church team has been at the church since Tuesday and have been building walls out of concrete blocks and building joists for the roof.\u00a0 The entire team has learned a lot about masonry including how to mix cement and mortar and how to lay bricks.\u00a0 Today we started building a baptismal.\u00a0 Some highlights from the team building at the church have been:
\n* Finding two baby goats hiding in the bricks.
\n* J.P. leading the Haitians in song and the Haitians knowing them in English.
\n* Losing the one screwdriver bit for the drill for about 45 minutes and then finding it on the water cooler.
\n* Only having a 220 volt circular saw when the generator is 110 volt.
\n* Singing Christian songs with the Haitian children when they come visit us after school.<\/p>\n

\nThe team at Jasmine\u2019s orphanage has been busy loving on the kids that are there.\u00a0 On Wednesday, three new children came to the orphanage including a 2 week old, a 2 year old, and a 6 year old.\u00a0 This was an emotional experience as the team observed mothers leaving their children because they weren\u2019t able to adequately care for them.\u00a0 The team has been able to connect with many of the children and they love to be held, play games, and just hangout with the team.\u00a0 We have also been able to give some of the Haitian orphanage workers some assistance\/a little break.\u00a0 The children all go to school at the orphanage.\u00a0 Currently, they are separated by gender and grades and each group attends school for 1.5 hours per day.<\/p>\n

\nWe continue to thank God for the privilege and opportunity to serve.\u00a0 We pray that God will work through us as we serve the \u201cleast of these\u201d as Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:40 \u201cTruly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
